ABWAK has a long history of providing grants to its members to improve the husbandry and welfare of the animals in their care, and in 2026 this will continue and to make more accessible the application process has been streamlined. Just fill in your details answer 4 questions and apply for up to £500 to help you achieve your animal husbandry goals.

The Husbandry Grant could be used to develop an animal training programme, develop and update an enclosure, conduct research into animal behaviour, purchase weigh scales or other equipment to improve animal care, however you want to improve animal husbandry, you tell us about it for the chance to be awarded a grant.

The Husbandry Grant is open to Professional ABWAK Members, who have been member for at least 6 months. This grant can be applied for at any time, with the applications being reviewed 3 times a year and assessed by our impartial grants committee.

Applicants must fill in all the following application form giving as much detail as they deem appropriate and demonstrate why they would benefit from the grant.
