
Animal Training Skills Workshop

ABWAK is pleased to announce a two-day Animal Training Workshop to be held at Hertfordshire Zoo in June 2026.
This practical-focused workshop will be delivered by experienced zoo animal trainers and is designed to support animal keepers and wildlife professionals in developing effective, structured training programmes within their collections.
The course will place strong emphasis on applied learning, providing delegates with the opportunity to develop practical skills, observe training in a working zoological setting, and explore approaches that can be implemented within their own institutions.

This workshop is suitable for keepers at all stages of their career who are looking to strengthen their understanding of training principles and improve practical application in the workplace.

Observation of animal training across the zoo

Interactive training exercises and discussion

Attendance at this workshop will count towards your CPD hours if you have undertaken the BIAZA Animal Trainer Accreditation course.
