GUIDELINES FOR APPLICANTS

ABWAK IS ABLE TO GRANT SMALL AMOUNTS OF MONIES TO ASSIST DIRECTLY THE FURTHERANCE OF THE ASSOCIATION'S CONSERVATION/ EDUCATION OBJECTIVES.

APPLICATIONS MEETING EITHER OF THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA ARE INVITED TO APPLY.

Any project designed to increase knowledge or awareness of factors relevant to the husbandry of captive exotics particularly Red Data Book/CITES listed taxa.

Any field conservation/education project in the U.K. or abroad that is principally organised by the applicant.

GRANTS ARE MADE AT THE DISCRETION OF THE ASSOCIATION'S GENERAL COUNCIL.

ACCEPTANCE OF AN ABWAK GRANT IMPLIES ACCEPTANCE OF ANY CONDITIONS THAT COUNCIL MAY IMPOSE IN CONNECTION WITH SUCH A GRANT.

An automatic condition is that the successful applicant(s) must agree to provide written details of the sponsored topic on completion of the project. If the study is on-going, regular reports would be expected. Such information may be published by ABWAK in one of their publications.

APPLICATION SHOULD BE MADE TO THE GRANTS CO-ORDINATOR. GRANT APPLICATIONS ARE NORMALLY ASSESSED ANNUALLY, THE CLOSING DATE FOR APPLICATIONS EACH YEAR BEING 1st FEBRUARY.

A firm response to grant applications will be given by 30th April each year.
